Scottish Environment LINK members welcomes the Group’s recommendation for a right to a healthy environment and calls on Scottish Parliament to seek reassurances that the taskforce taking forward the implementation of these recommendations will address Scotland’s record of compliance with international standards on access to justice as afforded by the Aarhus Convention. According to the Aarhus Committee, at present, Scotland along with the rest of the UK is not fully compliant with the Convention’s legally binding provisions.
