On 11 August 2022, the Chief Officers of the four country Links, Scottish Environment LINK,. Wildlife and Countryside Link, Wales Environment Link and Northern Ireland Environment Link, wrote to Greg Clarke, Secretary of State for Levelling up, with concerns that the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill could weaken protections for nature by handing the UK Government the power to amend the law in devolved areas. In this joint letter, we call on the UK Government to reconsider these proposals.
