LINK has coordinated a letter to Mr Ewing, as Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Tourism, outlining growing concern about the ongoing delay to publication of the report from the Food and Farming Production Futures Policy Group and the recently announced cut to agri-environment climate scheme. This is at a time when strategic direction for the newly established Farmer-led groups is key and when action for the climate and biodiversity emergency is vital. We ask what direction of travel the Scottish Government is embarked upon in relation to making our natural environment better and supporting farmers in the transitions they need to make in the face of climate change and biodiversity loss.
