97 civil society organisations, community groups, environmental charities and many others wrote today to the First Minister of Scotland asking her to bring forward a Scottish Environment Act as part of the Scottish Government’s legislative programme for 2019/2020.
Such an Act would ensure that we can fend off the very real risks that a potential EU exit poses to environmental protections as well as to deliver the transformative change, which as the First Minister has previously highlighted, is needed to address the climate and nature crises.
