Briefing on commissioned report ‘Ensuring the effectiveness of the Marine Protected Area Network in Scotland’.

Scottish Environment LINK’s Marine Group commissioned a report, funded by LINK, National Trust for Scotland and the Marine Protected Area Fighting Fund, analysing the current Scottish MPA network against IUCN criteria to determine whether the MPA network meets its requirements based on management objectives. The report was undertaken by Professor James Harrison (University of Edinburgh), with a final version approved by the steering group at the end of September 2023.
