The Azure Hawker dragonfly is small Hawker dragonfly which has a scattered distribution in Highland moorlands and bogs. The males have blue eyes and blue spots, while the females come in two colour forms – blue or brown.
Azure Hawker dragonflies are only found in Scotland within the UK.

2. Surveys to update the species map and location of populations
3. Implement management of sites to ensure viability with climate change
4. Engage constituents in learning about the Azure Hawker and its habitat
5. Ensure the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy is fully implemented

1. Climate change; increasing temperatures and erratic rainfall threaten the species’ bog pool habitat.
2. Ditch installation and drainage.
3. Peat cutting.
4. Afforestation.
