Letter on Marine Special Protected Areas in Scotland

8th September 2016

A letter to Dr Thérèse Coffey, the UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Environment and Rural Life Opportunities on the importance of progressing the consultation and designation of five Special Protected Areas sites that have been held back from consultation due to their having offshore (beyond 12nm) or cross-border
components and therefore requiring agreement of the UK Government as required under the Marine & Coastal Access Act 2009.
